All the big Karst stories are linked with stone

Legend has it that the Karst was created when God was carrying a bag of stones to throw into the sea and on the way the bag fell apart. Stones poured out onto the ground and remained there dotting the Karst, marking it for all eternity.

Today, it is proud of this special outcome. White dry-stone walls, protecting the white horses, and sheep out to pasture. Master-carved stones built into houses, the castle and several gardens. The amazing karst caves.

The Karst is stony, abounding in endless colours.
