Srečko Kosovel’s Memorial Room in Sežana
The museum exhibition is a tribute to the great poet of the Karst.
Srečko Kosovel (1904–1926) is an eminent Slovenian poet, critic and publicist who dedicated a vast part of his literary opus to the Karst, thereby endowing it with an exceptional poetic legacy. Kosovel’s life and literary creation are presented in an interestingly and originally designed room in which the poet was born.
The room was opened in 1976. The architect Janez Suhadolc, PhD, was entrusted with the original room design and arranged it in a constructivist fashion. The room was renovated in 2004 based on the conceptual design of the academic painter Simon Kastelic.
