Hrpelje Nature & History Trail

Near the primary school in the middle of the village of Hrpelje is the start of a relaxing and edifying trail marked by stones bearing the image of a green lizard. It first leads through the old village centre where you can learn about the architectural features of the Karst and see examples of master-carved stone. Outside the village, the trail continues across the meadows and natural forests, abundant with karst phenomena and old water reservoirs. You will be fascinated by the complete tranquillity of the Karst landscape.
