Srečko Kosovel’s Memorial Room in Sežana
The museum exhibition is a tribute to the great poet of the Karst.
Srečko Kosovel (1904–1926) was a great Slovenian poet, critic and publicist who dedicated a big part of his opus to the Karst, thus leaving behind an outstanding poetic legacy. The poet’s life and literary creation are on display in an interesting and originally designed room, where Kosovel was born.
His memorial room was opened in 1976. The first design was entrusted to the architect Janez Suhadolc, PhD, who arranged the room in the constructivist style. The room was redesigned in 2014 according to the design concept of the academic painter Simon Kastelic.
