Malvasia in Harbour – the taste of the Karst in the city

Experience the charm of selected Malvasia wines in the heart of the capital.

On Friday, October 24, 2025, in the prestigious setting of the Grand Hotel Union in Ljubljana, the third edition of Malvasia at the Harbor will take place as part of the BORDERLESS OKUS project. The event is dedicated to renowned winemakers from the cross-border Karst region, who will reveal the diversity and richness of one of the area’s most iconic grape varieties – Malvasia.

You will experience a journey through different styles and interpretations of Malvasia, from fresh and mineral expressions to complex and macerated wines that reflect the strength and character of the Karst soil. The event offers the opportunity to taste, socialize, and discover the stories of the people who passionately shape the wine identity of the Karst region.
The experience will be complemented by selected Karst prosciutto and cheeses, perfectly paired with Malvasia, telling the authentic story of the region.

Malvasia – a grape with character

Malvasia is one of the oldest Mediterranean grape varieties and has found its true home in the Karst. It is distinguished by its recognizable aroma, with notes of white flowers, fruit, and subtle minerality reflecting the character of the Karst soil. This versatility allows winemakers to express it in various ways: as an elegant fresh wine, richly aged, or in amber versions that showcase the art of winemaking.
