Discover the beauty of karst ponds

A pond (‘kal’) is a natural water reservoir that emerges in an impermeable karst hollow. Village ponds were very carefully maintained by the locals in the past, whereas over the last few decades many have been abandoned. A special hiking trail has been created to connect these ponds, where cattle was once taken to water, after they have been renovated. It leads to water reservoirs that are today the home of many water plants and animals. The trail is circular and marked. It starts and ends at the village pond in Famlje.
