Petelin Rogelja Homestead – Wine tasting in a vineyard
Join us in the middle of a vineyard where wine is created. Become familiar with the land that shapes the wine’s character. Learn about our way of life. All of this while having a pleasant chat and listening to the ‘music’ of mother nature.
The experience in the midst of a vineyard and of tasting wine produced by the Petelin Rogelja family is a special opportunity. The new generation which has taken over the family-owned farm, with a tradition dating back several hundred years, will present its philosophy of working in a vineyard and a wine cellar. The visit starts with a walk to one of our vineyards where the story of wine begins. You’ll learn about viticulture and chores in a vineyard, from cultivation of the grapevine and tending to grapes through to the grape harvest. As you taste 3 selected samples of wine and a typical Karst snack in the middle of a vineyard running along the village edge, you’ll quickly realise why we love what we do so much. This will be followed by a visit to the family wine cellar with its stone vaults, where you’ll learn more about the work in the cellar and wine making. You will taste two samples in the wine cellar which are both still maturing and not yet for sale.
The programme includes:
- a presentation of natural cycles and work in the vineyard,
- a presentation of the viticultural and winemaking tradition in the Karst,
- a guided tasting of 5 wine samples in the middle of a vineyard, including a traditional snack,
- a visit to the family wine cellar with its stone vaults and a presentation of winemaking tasks.
Family- and pet-friendly. We have a very friendly female dog named Brina.

Besides Teran and Teran liqueur, we offer the Malvazija, Vitovska Grganja, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot wines in limited series.
