The Golden Boat Fairytale & Experiential Trail

Dobrošin the Dwarf loves to discover new places and travel through different lands. One moment he is in the world of people, and the next he sails away into the world of imagination.

To take him on his journeys, the poet-dwarf conjured up a truly magical vessel – the Golden Boat. With it, he sails to distant places in search of inspiration for his poems.

The Golden Boat fairytale experience is the most poetic adventure in the whole world! It will take you into the Karst forest above Sežana, which is the heart of the Karst and the birthplace of the great Slovenian poet Srečko Kosovel. His children’s poems are the heart and soul of our family adventure. On this poetic forest adventure you will also meet another dwarf from the Karst – Dobrošin, a great poet and traveller among dwarfs. Try out your own poetic vein and sail away with the Golden Boat on a sea of poetry. Forge golden verses and collect golden coins and seals to win a golden prize. For the Golden Boat adventure you need the Golden Boat notebook, available at the Sežana Tourist Information Centre (TIC).

Dobrošin is a famous dwarf from the Karst. As is proper for a dwarf, he keeps a large chest of gold coins at home, which he guards carefully. But his true treasure is poetry. Dobrošin is the greatest poet among dwarfs. All the dwarfs of the Karst know that their world will keep turning in the right direction as long as Dobrošin keeps writing verses and forging rhymes. Young dwarflings learn to recite poetry already in their early youth – when they are only a few hundred years old. Dobrošin is also a great traveller. He lives by the principle of his great role model, the poet Srečko Kosovel, who may have been only a man, but knew the dwarfs of the Karst very well. He also had a deep sensitivity for nature and all living beings, which is something very important to dwarfs!

“For a single poem, you must know the whole world!”
