The Baba Trail

The Rodik Mythical Park is calling on you to come and discover the wealth of the local intangible cultural heritage which the local people have creatively brought to life in the landscape.

A visit to the Park begins at the Visitor Centre. Through the Mythical and Other Realities interactive exhibition (about 40 min), we guide you through the world of our ancestors and together seek answers to several questions: Who are we? Where are we? Where are we going?

Think for a while about the different views of the world: the mythical, the scientific, the religious and the artistic. Our guidance is adjusted to the age and interests of visitors.

Then allow your curiosity to take you on one of the two marked trails – the Lintver Trail or the Baba Trail.

The Baba Trail is best experienced by bike. The basic macadam trail is 8.5 km long and runs on flat terrain. You enter the mythical world by stepping over a stone threshold. On your way, you will encounter a ‘dwarf’ from the Cikova cave and see the pieces of the Baba stone that ‘determine the weather’ in Rodik; you will also learn how the caves were formed. The beauty of the majestic Remeščica collapse doline and other karst phenomena will enchant you. The story relevant to every point is presented by artistic stone markers and sculptures. Stories are delivered by means of an audio-visual guide or await you in a letterbox located at each point.

By prior reservation, you can also experience the trail in the company of an experienced guide.

Jump on your bike or rent an e-bike at the Visitor Centre, extend the trail by another 6.5 km and visit the Globoka cave and the Fukova cave as well.

A visit to the Mythical Park is enjoyable for anyone, regardless of their age or interests. You too can experience & revive the mythical landscape.
