Exhibition of Works from the Artistic Residency on the Karst 2025

The exhibition presents artworks created within the framework of the AGROTUR+ project, during which, in the first half of October 2025, a group of nine artists from Slovenia and Italy stayed on the Karst.

In the cross-border area of the Classical Karst – a landscape of stone, wind, and powerful stories – the artists explored the natural environment, cultural heritage, the tradition of Terrano wine production, and the everyday life of Karst villages through their stay, movement, and dialogue with the local surroundings.

During their residency, the artists explored the Karst as a shared cross-border space: from the Karst villages and stone architecture to Terrano vineyards, stone craftsmanship traditions, Lipica, and the Karst caves. Through field programs, conversations with the local community, and direct experience of the place, a diverse range of artworks emerged – graphics, illustrations, tapestries, installations, and audiovisual works – that not only depict the Karst but also reinterpret it through the language of contemporary art.

The exhibition offers a perspective on the Karst as a living, connected, and inspiring cross-border space and highlights the power of art as a language that transcends borders and connects heritage, landscape, and people on both sides of the border.
