The hike will begin in the old part of the village of Aurisina/Nabrežina, among stone portals, wells, and typical enclosed courtyards, called borjači, and will then lead us to a larger valley and the Pocala Cave geosite, where remains of prehistoric animals have been found, most notably the skeletons of cave bears. From there, we will cross rugged fields to San Pelagio and visit the Lindner Cave, then continue along the gmajna grasslands, offering charming views of the sea. The circular route is approximately 5 km long, with an elevation difference of 100 m. It is not technically demanding and follows forest roads and trails, with ascents and descents over rocky terrain. Recommended equipment: sports shoes, long trousers, a bottle of water, and a snack.
The event will be held in Slovenian and Italian. Places are limited. Registration is now closed. Additional information and registration: Contact Barbara Bassi at curiosidinatura@gmail.com or call +39 340 556 93 74.
