The medieval village of Štanjel
Fabiani's Štanjel will outline the rich architectural legacy that Maks Fabiani left to Štanjel during his 20-year period in office as the mayor. His greatest legacy is the renovation of the Ferrari Villa and the design of the Ferrari Garden with its innovative water supply system, that holds a special place in the history of architecture. The tour includes a visit to the Štanjel Castle, the Maks Fabiani exhibition, the Ferrari Garden and a walk through the village. We will finish the guided tour at the Grajžar family, and see their ethnological exhibition in the Karst House. We will then treat ourselves to a Karst snack (‘marenda’) of homemade prosciutto and a glass of Teran wine, served by the hospitable owners Vlasta and Vojko.
