During the guided tour of the Sežana Botanical Garden at Mirasasso Villa and the Karst Vegetation Interpretation Centre, you will learn the story of the Scaramanga family. In 1848 they designed the garden in the style of Italian bourgeois gardens. They planted various special plant species, that were brought by the family sailors. You will also learn some interesting facts about the cultural elements of the garden, among which the greenhouse from 1890 is the most important and as such the only one in Slovenia. Besides the garden, which today boasts the status of natural and cultural value, you will also experience the Karst Vegetation Intepretation Centre, which in an artistic as well as didactic and interactive way shows the Karst landscape as art of nature and man. You will also be able to take home a piece of the taste of karst vegetation. We will give you some locally produced flower honey in the packaging of the Sežana Botanical Garden.
