My name is Aleš Rodman. I have been involved in beekeeping since 1985. With over 300 bee colonies, our beekeeping farm is one of the largest in Slovenia.
In 2004, I obtained a National Vocational Qualification for beekeeping. In 2009, I became a licensed authorised honey taster. In the same year, I qualified as a certified bee examiner.
My best years were spent working at the Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association. In 2004, I was elected to the SBA board for bee products. In 2007, I became the president of the committee for beekeeping technology and safe food, as well as a member of the honey assessment committee. I was vice-president of the SBA from 2008 to 2020.
My work has been recognised with a number of awards, including the 2020 SBA President’s Award.
