The recreational 9-km and 6-km cross-country races on well-maintained macadam roads through the protected area of the Lipica Stud Farm are complemented by a recreational hike along the Karst Living Museum trail.

10.00–19.00 – Open Day at wine cellars along the Karst Wine Route
Open wine cellars will bear a sign “Dan odprtih kleti/Open Wine Cellar Day” and be marked with a sprig of ivy. The wine cellars will be open from 10.00 to 19.00, during which time a shuttle bus service will be organised. 10.00 – Following the Footsteps of Kosovel – an urban literary walk, Sežana Railway Station
On a guided urban literary walk through the birthplace of the poet Srečko Kosovel, we gather impressions of the town, read poems and, encouraged by visual stimuli of Sežana, learn about the poet's interesting life and his rich literary legacy, and look for the traces he left in the creations of others. Along the way, participants actively engage in discussion and get pieces of the puzzle, which they finally assemble in the Srečko Kosovel Memorial Room into an original souvenir.
The walk also includes a small refreshment and a visit to the Srečko Kosovel Memorial Room.
Entrance fee: €15/person (for citizens of the municipality of Sežana: €10/person, family ticket: €30 for 3 family members, €10 for each additional child) The walk will take place with a minimum of 6 participants, registration is required by e-mail: info@kosovelovdom.si.

The Belimuc family has always been white. Mum and dad are white, grandma and grandpa are white, great-grandma and great-grandpa, cousins, uncles and aunts ... They are all white. Mummy and daddy Belimuc look at the little kittens in amazement, then stand there stunned when they see a tiny black head among the little white furry balls. Something like this has never happened in the Belimuc family before. The show teaches young children tolerance and understanding of difference in a playful and humorous way, and encourages them to respect each other, accept diversity and live in an open and harmonious society. The show lasts 35 minutes and is suitable for ages 2–6 years.

11.00 – Villa, Garden and Wine – The Sežana Botanical Garden at Villa Mirasasso
A guided tour of Villa Mirasasso, the botanical garden and Vinakras’ wine cellar, along with tasting of wines and dry-cured meat products. Autumn brings flavours of deliciousness. Especially in the Karst. When the cellars smell of new wine, the ovens of freshly baked bread and the Karst gmajna meadows of its wild herbs. Yet Karst autumn offers another, different kind of beauty. A gift of art and culture that reflects the centuries-old Scaramangà time in Sežana; that is why St Martin’s Festival features the Villa, Garden and Wine event, including a guided tour of Villa Mirasasso, its Botanical Garden and the Vinakras Wine Cellar with a final tasting of wines and Karst dry-cured meat delicacies.

15.00 – Guided tour of the Vilenica Cave, Lokev
Come visit the magical Vilenica Cave, the oldest tourist cave in Europe. The tour lasts about one hour and we recommend comfortable sports shoes and clothing suitable for cave temperatures (8–10°C).
The promotional price for buying tickets via the portal mojekarte.si is valid until 9 November 2023 (adults: €12, children up to 14 years: €6). On the day of the tour, tickets can be purchased (cash only) at the ticket office at the Vilenica Cave from 14.30 onwards at the regular price (adults: €15, children up to 14 years: €7).

Pliskovica invites you to enjoy pleasant socialising as well as countless palate indulgences with guided tastings of young Karst wines, Karst honey and honey products and homemade culinary snacks that always delight even the most discerning guest. The interesting and varied programme includes 6 x 2 wine tastings, tasting of honey, mead and honey desserts, a toast with a stonecutter, a bread bun with Karst prosciutto and a closing with live music and lively events in the courtyard of the Slamčeva Homestead (hostel).
