Mladifest youth festival

Every summer, the youth festival injects some fresh air into Sežana with its rich social, cultural, sports and educational programmes. The young people involved organise concerts, shows and film projections at various locations. Interesting topics are explored at many creative workshops, some of which are also intended for children.

The festival is organized by: Club of Sežana's Students, MC Podlaga – Zavod ŠTIP, in collaboration with the Kosovel Culture House

Programme

Friday, July 10th

  • Opening of Mladifest Youth Festival
    At 9 p.m., in the outdoor Amphitheatre near the Kosovel Culture House (in case of rain the event will be cancelled)
    The opening of this year’s festival with laughter and music.

Saturday, July 11th

  • Climbing match
    At 3 p.m., Climbing wall at the Plus Climbing centre, Sežana
  • Rock za odklop III
    At 9 p.m., in front of the Scouts’ house in the park near Stari grad Manor
    Rock concert by Body Says NoNevermind and Cona 40.

Sunday, July 12th

  • Tennis tournament
    At 4 p.m., Tennis court in Sežana
  • Slovenec in pol – a comedy play
    At 9 p.m., in the outdoor Amphitheatre near the Kosovel Culture House (in case of rain in the Great Hall of the KCH)

Monday, July 13th

  • Painting of the MC Podlaga’s oval
    From 13th to 17th July, every afternoon in front of the youth center MC Podlaga (also in case of rain)
    During the festival the creatives Dana Goranc and Tai Küssel will create the new image of the MC Podlaga’s oval.
  • Alternative brandy workshop: Part one
    At 4 p.m.
    With the help of Ana Ščuka, a student of unique design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, you will be able to create clay products.
  • KŠS basket tournament 3 on 3
    At 5 p.m., Basketball court of Sežana Sports Park
  • Musical fairytale for children: Izgubljeni slamnik (The Lost Straw)
    At 7 p.m., in the outdoor amphitheatre near the Kosovel Culture House
    Škrateljc Association. The illustrator of the book, Anka Kočevar, will also be present.

Tuesday, July 14th

Cosy day – daily activities

  • Creative workshop: Križec in krožec (Criss Cross)
    At 5 p.m., park near Stari grad Manor (in case of rain in MC Podlaga)
  • Empty your wardrobe!
    At 5 p.m., park near Stari grad Manor (in case of rain in MC Podlaga)
  • Sports fair
    At 5 p.m., park near Stari grad Manor

Cosy day – evening activities 

  • Concert: Pantaloons
    At 9.30 p.m., in front of the Scouts’ house in the park near Stari grad Manor
    We will conclude the day in the park with a funk/jazz concert by the trio Pantaloons.

Wednesday, July 15th

  • Dance workshop Flavour sešn
    At 6 p.m., park near Stari grad Manor (in the case of rain in MC Podlaga)
  • KŠS Five-a-side football tournament
    At 4 p.m., Sežana Sports Park
  • Houseitsch
    At 10 p.m., park near Stari grad Manor
    A concert of house music.

Thursday, July 16th

  • Alternative brandy workshop: Part two
    At 4 p.m.
  • KŠS in KZŠ Beach volleyball tournament
    At 5 p.m., Volleyball court in Sežana Sports Park
  • Yoga for children
    At 5 p.m., park near Stari grad Manor (in case of rain in MC Podlaga)
  • Summer Karst Cinema
    At 9.30 p.m., in the outdoor Amphitheatre near the Kosovel Culture House
    The co-production film Angelski delež (The Angels’ Share) and the pre-film Zlata verižica (Slovene short film).

Friday, July 17th

  • Skejt Sešn
    At 5 p.m., Skate park Sežana
    Everyone is invited to the skate session – beginners and experts. Beginners will be able to practice in the skate school, and everyone else will be able to show their skills with the skates available for rent.
  • Concert: Omega Sun and Ambra
    At 9.30 p.m., in front of the Scouts’ house in the park near Stari grad Manor
    After the skate session, the event will move to the park, where we will have a stoner rock concert.

Saturday, July 18th

  • Pulvers
    At 10 p.m., Pulveriera near Sežana
    The 26th Mladifest will conclude with Pulvers – the traditional electronic concert.
