Pipan winegrowing and winemaking farm
Grandfather Miro planted the first vineyards soon after World War II, for his own needs and to keep himself amused. He then passed his love and passion onto the next generations. Today, the grapevines are cultivated by his son Darjo and his grandson Jaka, who together laid the foundations for our exquisite wines. Nowadays, Jaka with the help of his family is responsible for the preservation of the family tradition and wine quality. They cultivate grapes on traditional Karst trellises. Each of their vineyards has a special status. Young vineyards give youth to the wine, whereas the old vineyards unveil a certain charm and maturity. Most Pipan wines are made from the Refosco grape and from the autochthonous grapevine of the Karst, Vitovska Grganja, but also from Cabernet Sauvignon and Malvasia.
