Ostrouška Pelicon (traditional ‘osmica’ event)

The farm is located at the edge of the picturesque Karst village of Coljava, counting only 25 houses. The building is a traditional old Karst house with a typical walled courtyard called a ‘borjač’. In the past, the ancestors of the Ostrouška family ran a restaurant, but it was located in another building. The restaurant operated until 1947. 

Over half a century later, the descendants decided to revive the family catering business. They redesigned the old barn and turned it into a dining room. In 1997 they received an architecture award for original design of the space in the Karst style. 
They also enlarged the existing wine cellar to cater to their tourist needs. Cellar tours are available only to small groups, by prior arrangement.
