GEOMOB
The cycling connection between Sežana and Komen was established as part of the GEOMOB – Regional Cycling Connections in the Karst project, co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.
The GEOMOB project aims to increase and upgrade the infrastructure for sustainable mobility in the Karst region and to improve road safety and conditions for cycling.
The main cycling route connects Sežana and Komen and is 19.9 km long. Before Komen, three more cycling trails branch off to Volčji Grad, Tomačevica and Kobjeglava, 7.3 km long in total.
Cycling through the Karst landscape is not only a form of sustainable mobility and relaxation, but also an unforgettable journey of discovering cultural and historical stories and admiring the diverse natural attractions.
The Karst landscape is one of the richest areas in Europe in terms of flora and fauna and one of the biodiversity hotspots in the world.
