Fabiani Trail

The Fabiani Trail combines several shorter walking trails leading to Maks Fabiani’s most beautiful architectural creations located in Štanjel. The renowned architect lived and created here in the period between the First and Second World Wars. The famous Ferrari Garden with its small artificial lake and astonishing water supply system, the Ferrari Villa, the stairways, the avenue of trees, the lookout and even the beehive all characterise the architect’s creativity. Before returning to the Karst, he led a creative life in Vienna and other European cities. You can extend the walk all the way to Kobdilj, Fabiani’s native village. Along the way from Štanjel to Kobdilj, which takes a good 1 hour, in the forest you can see benches designed by Fabiani.
