Up and down from Divača to Štanjel

Divača – Pared – Rodik – Slope – Tublje pri Hrpeljah – Artviže – Ostrovnica – Barka – Škoflje – Matavun – Škocjanske jame – Vremščica – Senožeče – Dolenja vas – Veliko polje – Vrabče – Raša – Kodreti – Podlasi – Štanjel 

The path winds in the hilly area of the Brkini, dominated by the flysch, where every climb is amply rewarded by wonderful views. In spring the terraced apple and plum trees blossom and they offer an unforgettable sight. The route continues through Vremščica, where indigenous sheep graze on the karst meadows, the area of Senožeško Podolje to reach the peaks again dominated by the flysch, perched between the Vipava Valley and the tectonic fracture which coincides with the river Raša, known for a high quality wine production. The scenic route ends in Štanjel, a village of great architectural beauty, from where you can go back to Divača by train. Note The route is not marked and is partly on car roads.
